Welcome to More Than Meat, the place to find the Shire’s best quality meat and gourmet produce for every taste and occasion. We are a family run business which was established in 1995. We pride ourselves on being your old school butcher shop that provides a unique and personalised service that you don’t see often anymore. Our staff are like one big family and we are lucky to have had most of them with us from the very beginning.  We pride ourselves on our produce, our service, our consistency, and our loyalty to our community, our team, our customers and our long-standing suppliers.

The origin of our meat is of the utmost importance to us, and we know it is to you too. It comes from Aussie farmers, off prime Australian agricultural land on the banks of the Lachlan River in Cowra. It’s consistent in quality and flavour, and we are proud to have supported this family-owned farm (Breakout River Meats) since Day 1.

As our name suggests, we stock much more than just meat. We want you to be able to stop by and pick up everything you need for a beautiful meal - everything from traditional meats, seafood and salads, to sauces, marinades herbs and spices, fresh bread and eggs, and even delicious ready-made meals (we are well-known for our BBQ pulled-pork, the tastiest BBQ chickens, pies, lasagnes and more…). We stock only the finest quality goods and work only with reliable suppliers so that you only receive the best quality products every time.  And with the convenience of parking right at our doorstep, we really are your one stop shop for all you need to feed the family. 

We take pride in making our tight-knit Shire community feel like family too and do what we can to support local sporting teams from the grassroots level (all ages) right up to professional level. We sponsor Gymea Bay Soccer, Gymea Bay Cricket, Sutherland Hockey Club and have been a corporate sponsor for the mighty Cronulla Sharkies for many years. It’s no secret that when the MTM sausage sizzle is on, parents and friends will sometimes head to the sport just for that! 

 Finally, a party isn’t complete unless it’s been catered for by More than Meat. We are recognised for being one of the Shirels best - for service, flavour, variety, and our professionalism. Whether it be a small family gathering, or a wedding for hundreds, we’ve got you covered. We do it all -  from our humble hot meats and salads, to gourmet grazing platters, tasty spit roasts, right up to the highest quality finger foods. We take the stress out of organising the food for your next event and work closely with you to meet all of your needs.
